Advertising: Moving from Traditional to Digital

Advertising is an important means for a seller to
awaken interest in his product and services.
Hence, the success of any product ad depends
on public confidence.

In different era, different methods of advertising

were adopted in order to reach their target
audiences.
During the 80’s and 90’s, Doordarshan was the
only channel for advertisers to telecast their
visual ads.
Advertisements from the 90’s were so catchy and
relatable that we would often watch an entire
episode of a serial waiting for our favorite TV
commercial to appear. This was the beginning of
traditional advertising and it continues to persist.

Our TV experiences are still littered with
traditional ads but the times are quickly changing.
Today, the creative department of an advertising
agency or in-house marketing department relies
much more on facts and figures than concepts
and slogans.

It is quite evident that internet users are
immensely increasing day by day. The Internet
has rapidly become a part and parcel of our
lifestyle and we can’t think of doing without it
even for a day.

The role of Social Media in Digital Marketing
continues to become more and more prominent
each
year. Due to their constant updates, social media
platforms continue to grow in popularity,
showing no sign of slowing down.
Social media is no longer limited to younger
generations but has now become popular across
all age demographics and is an essential
marketing tool. Through this popularity, standout
trends continue to emerge each year.

New trends are entering the marketplace.
With the need to become more visible and reach
more customers, the digital marketing of
tomorrow offers advancements in emerging
technologies as consumers demand a more
integrated experience.

The future of Digital Marketing is bright and it
will continue to move forward with every
advancing step of technology.
